Good people who care about each other and care about their work
Orange Frame is a results-driven work environment that values creativity, professionalism, and positivity.
With recent new projects, Orange Frame is expanding and looking for talent -- if interested in joining a new kind of production company and work environment please contact email@example.com
As the resident cinematographer, technophile, and adventurer, Nic splits his time as a National Geographic cinematographer (where he and Jeff first started working together) and with Orange Frame. Having filmed in the most extreme environments on Earth, Nic lives on the cutting edge of filmmaking. From vast open tundra to maze-like medinas, Nic’s expertise lies in his eye for beautiful images, his know-how to specify the right tools for the job, and his qualifications--like a pilot's license to get the shot, and us, where its needed, and advanced certifications in underwater cinematography and RED equipment. Before joining National Geographic, Nic was a multimedia artist and still calls upon that experience to help conceptualize large multiscreen displays and immersive digital creations for Orange Frame.
As production manager Christine keeps Orange Frame focused on being a tightly run shop. Christine has managed crews and personnel both large and small in locations ranging from Times Square to the rural countryside of Thailand. She communicates with clients and crews with clearwater articulation. If there was ever a person could wrangle 100 cats, it would be Christine. In addition to managing production, keeping clients current, and scheduling deliverables, she is the finest fine art photographer we happen to know.
Our clients are executive producers. They are often not experts in production, but they are most always experts in the content we produce. Their voice, ideas, and creative input influence our decisions. Those decisions lead to inspiration, cutting-edge choices, and eventually, award-winning content. Our clients are shared on the same production management software, project documentation, and information as our internal team. Our methodology goes beyond clients being our partners; instead, clients are real members of the Orange Frame team.
Dean King is our go-to writer. He's the award-winning author of nine non-fiction books. His national bestseller Skeletons on the Zahara: A True Story of Survival was made into a History Channel special documentary, and optioned for film by Stephen Spielberg. Dean tells stories of great adventure with tremendous dedication to searching out the truth. That's our kind of storyteller. You'll find him getting dirty in the field just like the crew. In fact, he's been around the world researching and writing for his novels and scripts. Dean was the chief story-teller in two History Channel documentaries. He frequently speaks on NPR, ABC World News Tonight and BBC Radio, and article work appears in Garden & Gun, Granta, Men’s Journal, National Geographic Adventure, the New York Times, and Outside. Dean serves on the executive committee of the board of BIO, the world’s only literary organization devoted to biographers and biography.
Nissa Lipowicz believes that all subjects are best interpreted through art. She began her career ten years ago writing reviews of art exhibitions for BUST Magazine in New York and then opened an art gallery in Richmond, Virginia. Nissa has worked closely with clients to develop a diverse range of projects from creating permanent exhibits at major cultural institutions to managing the media development at some of the nation’s most recognized museums. With a decade of experience in client development and equipped with an educational background in fine art and curatorial studies, Nissa brings a combination of project management expertise and artistic vision to Orange Frame.
Caleb is a graduate from VCU's film department and specializes in cinematography for both narrative and nonfiction. He's met and then surpassed our stress-test standards of how to remain cool under production pressure. A true young professional who works hard, he's got an amazing eye for photography, blends technical know-how with art, and is a real pleasure for crew and clients to have on a shoot. Whether with Orange Frame or beyond, you can bet a cigar this kid's gonna go far in film.
Bill elevates Orange Frame’s business acumen. With extensive experience at the executive level of several top-tier marketing and advertising agencies, Bill knows how to manage and get the most exposure and mileage for client's. Our projects do not live independently in a vacuum. Often there are opportunities for distribution, broadcast, cross platform entertainment, and viral selects. He works with media investors to make sure their returns, whether for profit or for publicity, exceed expectations. He also specializes in integrated marketing within media. Big budgets and accounts are in trusted hands with Bill, and client satisfaction is of utmost importance. He's Canadian -- we don't hold that against him. As a former resident of Vancouver and avid sports fan, he is still salty about the Grizzlies moving to Memphis.
Jeff is the visionary force behind Orange Frame. A former producer for National Geographic, he's worked on high quality non-fiction content across 5 continents, produced films he's seen the very best of production. Armed with these real experiences, a MFA in film production, and outstanding partnerships forged along the way, Jeff is laser focused on positioning Orange Frame as an agent of change in large format film, immersive cinema, and original interactive media production. He pushes for a content first, minimalist approach with clear communication across multiple disciplines.
For too long, formulas, mediocrity, and tight frameworks have restricted progress in production. The people are ready, the kids are smarter than we think, and the time is now to inspire, challenge the way people perceive the world, and interpret with conviction the rich and complex stories of the past and present to define our future.
On the front lines of the front lines, Marshall is usually the one constant we have in field production. His ability to lead, deep understanding of story, multi-discipline production know-how, and his often-cited client relationship skills make him an invaluable asset to our production unit. When the day ends you'll find Marshall deep in thought, writing the next great American novel. That's what we hope he's writing anyways, because if there's one person on the team that could, it'd be this guy.
We almost decided to use the whole team page to write about how awesome Kent's last name is. Some at Orange Frame think if we get him boozy enough at a company party he'll come out and say he made it up to blow our minds and his last name is really Fitzpatrick. Some here think there's NO WAY anyone is born into that kind of name! C'mon Kent -- what is up with Wolfenbarger?!? Kent is Orange Frame's general counsel and has been working as a media attorney for the past 10 years. He specializes in copyright and ownership. Unlike the fences that are made between lawyers and clients, Kent protects our client's interests. From the get-go he is our client's agent and helps consult with distribution and theatrical leasing agreements. Having contemplated the inspiration for his surname, if made-up, we have landed on Teen Wolf. Teen Wolf? Probably.
Dave is the tech in Orange Frame’s production technique. From mobile to large format interactive, Dave is great at turning a list of requirements into digital art. In addition to being fluent in programming languages he is also fluent in Russian and Ukrainian. He has a MS in computer science but to understand Dave one must first put on a virtual reality headset. From there, you'll enter his reality, and it is a creative, sometimes surreal, place. When Orange Frame converts a film into 360 VR for Google Cardboard, shoots motion capture, specifies hardware and equipment, or works with a fabrication company to create an enormous interactive digital art installation that reacts to viewer's movements, you'll know Dave, the tech king, is behind it all.
